Experience:  

Mr. Journell, a registered geological engineer and manager of SGC’s Prescott office, has extensive professional experience managing and performing environmental projects.  He is Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA) certified.  Significant projects include a U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA) Superfund site on tribal lands, an underground storage tank (UST) site on tribal lands, municipal UST sites, Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) sites at the U.S. Army Proving Grounds, Landfill Closure at the U.S. Army Proving Grounds, and closure of major industrial facilities.

In managing these projects for SGC, Mr. Journell has directed the design, monitoring and evaluation of ground-water monitoring programs.  This work has been completed under the oversight of the USEPA, Arizona Department of Environmental Quality (ADEQ), Yavapai-Prescott Indian Tribe, U.S. Army, and the City of Prescott.  On one site, Mr. Journell’s work for SGC was followed and confirmed by studies completed by the U.S. Geological Survey and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.
